Clerk and Trustee Announce Opening of a new drive thru window

Jeff Cole, Anderson County Clerk, and Rodney Archer, County Trustee, are pleased to announce the opening of a drive thru window across from the courthouse in Clinton. The drive thru window will handle express service of car tag renewals and handicap renewals and placards. The Trustee will receive property tax payments by check, cash or credit card. The drive thru window will open Monday January 7, 2008 and will be open Monday through Friday from 8-5. “There is only a handful of County Clerk’s and Trustees in the state who offer drive by service and we are pleased to be among the first to pioneer this express service to our citizens here in Anderson County.” Offering this service will help cut down lines in the main office and help citizens get their needs met more quickly.

We want thank the County Commission for supporting this endeavor. Fortunately, we were able to move with no major expenses to the taxpayer. Anderson County already owns the Robert Jolley Building and so it was a move that made sense to improving the services that each of us use every year. Senior citizens, the disabled and those with busy schedules will no longer have to find parking, pay meters, climb stairs, stand in line or get out in the rain and snow. We are looking forward to serving you.
